Our goal is quality care

At MyPreOp, we aim to enhance patients' quality of care, outcomes, and experiences by establishing a novel approach to the pre-op experience. MyPreOp utilizes evidence-based medical knowledge to optimize patient safety and improve access to high-quality pre-op screenings. We cooperate with surgical offices to facilitate a smooth pre-op and surgical process and prevent last-minute cancellations.

Why we are passionate.

We recognized the need for a more streamlined approach to the pre-op process as we observed significant variability in the traditional, outdated methods. At MyPreOp we believe in simple, convenient, quality evaluations.

What is a virtual MyPreOp medical evaluation and why is it needed?

It’s an assessment conducted by a healthcare professional to determine a patient's overall health status and fitness for surgery. This evaluation is typically done prior to a scheduled procedure to identify any potential risks or complications.

A comprehensive evaluation is conducted by gathering pertinent information and applying the most recent medical findings. During our virtual evaluation, a healthcare provider reviews the patient's medical history and may order additional testing if needed. The provider may also ask the patient about current medications, allergies, and previous surgical procedures.

Based on the evaluation results, the provider will ensure the appropriate steps are taken to facilitate an optimal surgical outcome and develops a plan to manage any underlying medical conditions that may impact the surgery, including adjusting medications, optimizing chronic conditions, or providing additional medical interventions before or after the procedure to minimize potential complications.

At MyPreOp Inc., our team brings together a unique blend of clinical excellence, operational expertise, and a passion for healthcare innovation. Co-founders Dr. Shamim Shakibai and Dr. Joshua Lewis are board-certified internists with over a decade of experience in preoperative care. Their extensive clinical backgrounds, combined with their entrepreneurial drive, have fueled the development of a more efficient, standardized approach to pre-operative medical evaluations. Leveraging telemedicine and at-home testing, they are reshaping how patients prepare for surgery—making the process safer, simpler, and more accessible.

Supporting the team is Adrian, a dynamic Senior Operations Manager whose global perspective and cultural fluency enhance both patient engagement and operational flow. With a background in international studies and a gift for connecting across diverse communities, she brings empathy and creativity to every interaction. Together, our team is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, tech-forward solutions that bridge gaps in care and elevate the surgical experience for patients and providers alike.
